Towering Mountains and the World's biggest volcano. Wyoming has some great unspoiled back country as well as some of the most recognizable landmarks (Tetons and Yellowstone) in the US. This trip would feature some time in the back country either in the Grand Tetons or the Wind River Range (NW Wyoming) as well as day trips in the Teton's and exploration of the mud pots, geysers, hots springs and more of the Yellowstone. the World's largest (dormant) volcano. 

A trip to Wyoming might include:
  • 4-5 Days of backpacking in the Wind River Range, an incredibly picturesque mountain range that is off the beaten track and relatively unspoiled
  • 2-3 Days Hiking/exploring in the Grand Tetons National Park, with the towering Teton peaks rising out of the flat Wyoming plain
  • 4-5 days exploring the wonders of Yellowstone National Park. Home to hot water geysers, bubbling mud pots, hot water springs, and the amazing Yellowstone Canyon, an extremely colorful canyon cut by the Yellowstone River.
Highlights for the trip might include
  • Old Faithful, one of the most famous geysers in the World
  • Elk and Bison herds roaming wild in the fields of Yellowstone
  • Hot water pools with incredible colors from the algae growing in the hot water
  • Yellowstone Canyon, you'll understand why the park is called Yellowstone after seeing the canyon
  • camp in the shadows of the Tetons, which tower almost 7000 feet above the plain the rise from.

Cost: Approximate cost is $1000 - $1200 and would include airfare, rental cars, food, and camping in the national parks. The majority of the cost is the airfare and rental cars and so this is a very rough estimate.
